Wallace for Illinois
I would like to congratulate Paul McKinley on winning the Republican special election primary. With the final vote now certified it was a hard-fought campaign with a couple dozen votes being the difference.
I would like to thank my other fellow Republicans who ran. As Republicans we must contend for every office of public service – even those in long-held Democrat territory. It is important that we give people everywhere the opportunity to hear and to embrace and to vote for those who uphold the bedrock principles of freedom that made America great and that are the foundation of our Party’s platform.
To my supporters I say thank you very much for the trust you placed in me. I look forward to continued conversations and working with you to advance the cause of freedom and prosperity in the weeks and months to come in the 2nd Congressional District, the greater Chicago area, and throughout Illinois.

Wallace for Illinois Wallace Wins Another Endorsement
Bourbonnais, IL, Thursday, February 21, 2013
Eric Wallace picked up another newspaper endorsement. This time it was the Kankakee City News that threw their support behind him.
“The Editorial Board of the Kankakee City News endorses candidate Eric Wallace for election in the February 26, 2013 Republican Primary because Mr. Wallace has demonstrated a dedication to the principles of leadership and equal opportunity to all residents of the 2nd District.
He has, by his honesty and sincerity of purpose reflected the high principals of leadership that are so badly needed and necessary if the residents of the 2nd Congressional District are to be counted among the fortunate citizens who enjoy the liberties and opportunities afforded Americans in search of realizing the American Dream.
Mr. Wallace is a Christian man, a family man and one who understands the importance of self reliance and has set demonstrated that through years of hard work towards realizing the goals of informing the public through his years of media activities, always with the goal of providing a positive message of hope to the less fortunate but at the same time promoting the goals of self help.
Mr. Wallace understands that if America is to continue to realize our place among the leaders of the free world, we must maintain our unique economic base and that government, although it has a place in all our lives, is not and should not be the deciding factor of who and what succeeds.”

The 2nd Congressional District is considered a Democratic stronghold, but Republican Eric Wallace wants to fight for every vote.
Wallace is one of five Republicans vying for the nomination to win the seat vacated when Democrat Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned shortly after winning re-election last November. There are 16 Democrats on the ballot. The newly-drawn district contains all of Kankakee County, eastern Will County and the southeast portion of Cook County.
Wallace, 54, of Flossmoor, was in Bradley Monday, speaking to the Kankakee Kiwanis Club luncheon at the Quality Inn & Suites.
“I’m one of the 50,000 people running for the office,”Wallace joked.
Wallace, 54, an ordained Christian minister, said he became a Republican activist while watching the 2004 GOP convention that renominated George Bush. He liked what he saw.
“You can’t please everybody in politics,” he said, but Bush came across as “sincere.”
The values of the Republican Party, Wallace said, are values shared by the black community. Wallace said he is opposed to same-sex marriage. His website also points to support for the Second Amendment right to bear arms, a pro-life approach on abortion and the repeal of the health care reform legislation commonly known as “Obamacare.”
He said liberals like to “help people when they are poor.” Conservatives, he said, try to “prevent people from becoming poor.” He said the dividing line between fiscal conservatives and social conservatives is irrelevant. If the traditional family was doing better, he said, many of the costs associated with fighting community problems would be less. He was once a single parent and does not knock single parents, but the nation needs more traditional families.
FLOSSMOOR – Five Republicans are vying for their party’s nomination in the 2nd CD’s February 26 Special Election. The election is being held to fill troubled US Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr’s vacancy. The five GOPers on the 2nd CD primary ballot will be Lenny McAllister, Paul McKinley, Beverly Reid, James Taylor Sr and Eric Wallace.
In 2012, Congressman Jackson – who was known to be under federal investigation at the time – handily won re-election against Republican nominee Brian Woodworth with a 2 to 1 vote margin. Woodworth, a professor at Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, worked hard, but was unable to get financial support from the federal or state Republican organizations for his bid.
The newly-drawn 2nd CD does take in more traditionally Republican territory, extending into rural Kankakee and southwest suburban Will counties. But the bulk of the Democrat base in South Chicago and Cook County remains in the 2nd CD, so more media focus is on the multi-candidate Democrat primary.
But Flossmoor’s Dr. Eric Wallace, who’s known among Republican conservatives for his bids over the years for state senate, lieutenant governor, U.S. Senate and school board, won a 2nd CD Republican forum straw poll with 47% three weeks ago. He believes the district could be ready to look at a Republican alternative in a low-turnout election.
Last week, Wallace traveled to DC to ask for National Republican Congressional Committee campaign assistance, and met a challenge to talk to the right people. It’s the same story that Republicans don’t see any hope of winning campaigns in black communities, so they don’t invest and don’t engage in races like Illinois’ 2nd CD.
But Wallace found encouragement when he met with black U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, who Wallace said he met several years ago.
“Senator Scott recalled meeting my wife Jennifer and me a few years ago,” Wallace said. “I was honored to see him again and have him tell me how we met. He’s a new role model for black conservatives.”
Wallace said he’s also reaching out for endorsement from former presidential candidate Rick Santorum, whom he supported as a delegate on Illinois Republican Primary slate in 2012.

In the first test of strength among Republican candidates vying for Illinois’ 2nd congressional district seat, Eric Wallace scored a decisive win in Thursday’s debate. Wallace garnered 47% of the vote in the straw poll taken immediately after the debate.
Wallace, a resident of Flossmoor, Illinois, is the CEO of Wallace Multimedia Group.
The Will and Kankakee County GOP hosted the debate in Peotone on Thursday evening January 17th. Challengers Lenny McAllister and Paul McKinley participated as well and received 19% and 34% of the vote respectively.
