Economy and Taxes
Wallace believes that a free market economy is the best way to improve our economy and create wealth. He therefore is for creating an environment in which small businesses can thrive and job creation can flourish. He supports sweeping tax reform such as a flat tax or the FairTax/National sales tax. The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 296) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.
Wallace believes that we need an education system that promotes equity in our school programs and funding. We need a system of empowerment grants for all people, which enable parents to choose a school. Competition among schools will help improve all schools especially underachieving schools.
Faith Based Programs
Wallace is for the government and the faith community working together to help solve societies ills. Illinois should be encouraging its faith community to work with state and federal programs to help stem gang violence, drug addiction, and other criminal activity. Eric wants to make these programs and funds assessable to the Faith community. With heightened awareness of what is available we will see these programs begin to make a difference in our communities.
Wallace is Pro-life and pro-family. He believes that the family is the bedrock of our society and that healthy families decrease unplanned pregnancies, abortions and juvenile delinquencies. Wallace believes therefore that public policy should support traditional marriage between one man and one woman and make laws that promote strong nuclear families.
Wallace is Pro-2nd Amendment. It is what protects the rest of our Constitutional rights. We must take action against state agencies and local governments that enact regulations or allow conditions to exist, which deny Americans’ their 2nd Amendment rights.
Wallace supports the Death Penalty because of the social stability and deterrence that it provides. He also supports restorative justice, which helps prepare parolees for life outside of prison. Wallace believes we must stop recidivism in order to decrease crime rates.
Wallace supports a strong military and strong ties with our allies. One of the main responsibilities of the federal government is to protect the nation and the American people. This requires a strong and effective military, capable intelligence services, and a vigorous law enforcement and homeland security capacity. It also mandates an effective and proactive foreign policy that looks after American interests in conjunction with our allies yet stands resolute against our enemies.
Wallace believes that the United States of America should do all that it can to develop alternative fuel sources. Wind, solar, nuclear and bio-fuels need to be enhanced and utilized while at the same time we drill for oil on our own soil and off shore. Clean coal technology, oil shale are other alternatives for energy production.
Wallace supports individual Medical Savings Accounts whose deposits are completely tax free, and whose contents transfer to the owner’s estate at death. He also supports other creative measures that lower health care cost such as concierge physicians. Obamacare will be a impediment to job growth and drive up health care costs. Therefore it should be repealed.
